Is Earth Pan with Sand Flow Safe?
EarthPan uses a unique PTFE free, PFOA free ceramic nonstick coating called SandFlow that not only takes less energy to produce than traditional nonstick, but also is made from a renewable resource (sand). So in this respect, it lives up its “green” and “safe” labels.
Is Earthpan with Sand Flow Oven Safe?
Earth Pan is oven safe and stove top safe up to 600°F, whereas traditional nonstick coating starts to break down and release toxic chemicals at searing temperature, which is 500°F. This cookware has the unique distinction of being nonstick and broiler safe. It’s safe for searing and broiling, which makes it a versatile for cooks.
EarthPan says its hard-bonded SandFlow coating lasts 3 times longer than other ceramic-based nonstick green cookware, and the hard anodized body is twice as hard a stainless steel. However, the biggest complaint users have had with this set of cookware is that the nonstick coating doesn’t last long.
The usage instructions are pretty specific: Use olive oil or peanut oil only, don’t use cooking sprays, etc. It’s possible that some folks are experiencing performance issues due to misuse, but many people say they have followed the instructions and still experience sticking. Furthermore, it doesn’t inspire confidence when the manufacturer only offers a 30-day warranty, and even that grants you a replacement, not a refund.
